MICHAEL KORNFELD is an award-winning public relations and communications strategist and writer, whose clients include independent recording artists and an indie label. He is also editor & publisher of AcousticMusicScene.com and a former contributing writer for The New York Times. Long active in media circles, he formerly served on the boards of both the Long Island and NYC chapters of the Society of Professional Journalists. He is also a past president of two professional associations in the PR and communications field. Mike is currently president of the Folk Music Society of Huntington (a nonprofit presenting organization), a Folk Alliance International board member, and immediate past president of the Northeast Regional Folk Alliance (NERFA) board of directors. He is a frequent panelist/speaker at music conferences, has been a judge for performing songwriter competitions, organizes and curates the annual Huntington Folk Festival, and hosts showcases and song swaps at conferences and festivals.
